Distillery Tours - Terra Roza
Known as the “queen of oils,” Rose is one of the most beloved essential oils in the world. Rose is a highly valuable oil because of its luxurious aroma, gentle nature, skincare benefits, and symbolic ties to love and romance.
Roses have bounteously grown in Bulgaria for over 200 years. Thanks to its long growing history, mild winters, sandy soil, and heavy spring rains, Bulgaria is the perfect place to grow these royal flowers.
Rose cuttings are planted in autumn and ready for harvest in late spring. Rose flowers are handpicked early in the morning and distilled the same day to capture a higher volume of essential oil from the delicate petals.
How do I join?
All Wellness Advocates are welcome to join. Diamond rank and above Wellness Advocates and 25 Collective members will be given priority.
How many people can be in the group?
At maximum, 30 people can be gathered in a group.
Available Dates
While seasonally dependent, the annual rose harvest usually takes place from the middle of May through the middle of June. The annual Rose Festival takes place in the first weekend of June. Visits to the Terra Roza distillery are only available during this time of year. Check the calendar for availability.
Pricing
Starting in 2026, a visitor fee of €30 will be applied to all trips. Transportation and accommodation expenses incurred during a visit are at an individual’s expense.

You can stay anywhere you desire, but we recommend Kings Valley Medical & Spa Hotel.
Possible Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Sofia, Bulgaria, and drive to Kazanlak (approximately three hours).
Day 2: Relax at the luxurious Kings Valley Hotel in Kazanlak.
Day 3: Visit Terra Roza for rose harvesting and Rose essential oil distillation (approximately two hours).
Day 4: Enjoy sightseeing in Kings Valley and participate in Rose Festival activities.
Day 5: Travel back to Sofia for the return flight.
About Terra Roza
To collect Rose essential oil as efficiently as possible and ensure doTERRA Co-Impact Sourcing® guiding principles are upheld, doTERRA built a distillery in Shipka, Bulgaria—in an area known as the Valley of the Roses. The Terra Roza distillery began operations in May 2020 and was built as an extension of the doTERRA Esseterre Bulgaria operation.
Terra Roza is seasonally active, and those involved in the production process are local specialists. Terra Roza welcomes all doTERRA Wellness Advocates to introduce themselves to Bulgaria’s traditional essential oil distillation.
